Mentoring and Leadership
Beginning Fall 2026 - Registration is OPEN!
Let the Adventure Begin!
True North is an epic adventure where you get to redirect your life towards something bigger: loving God and making a real difference in the world.
Instead of looking for a time to find yourself, think of True North as the place where you lose yourself in a cause way bigger than just “you.” Dive into God’s plan for your life and stand in the gap for others (Ez 22:30), all while learning how to live with purpose (Mt 10:39).
Here’s the thing: You only get one life to live, but here, you’ll learn how to spend it on what really matters and that’s where the adventure begins.
Education and Training
Get practical and spiritual skills through Kings Academy. It’s like a masterclass in how to live your faith.
What will the Academy courses be like?
We cover theology, prophetic and pastoral ministry, leadership, biblical study, and communication, evangelism and engaging culture. You’ll get world-class instruction from some of our best! Each course is designed to challenge you to grow deeper.
Each session will be highly engaging and you’ll find yourself growing and you be enjoying yourself at the same time!
If you're exploring a call to full-time ministry, our partnership with Kingswood University offers you a supportive first step!
Discipling and Mentoring
You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll have mentors who genuinely care about your growth and will help you level up spiritually and personally.
Each week you’ll meet as a mentoring cohort where you’ll get to check in on each other, be accountable, and pray for any needs that arise.
There are many opportunities to serve within Kings Church every week. The specific area of where students will serve depends where each student chooses to focus. Tor example, student could serve on one of the following areas: young adults, tech and media, worship, children, or prayer and prophetic.
Creation and Adventure
It’s not just about learning; it’s about living! You’ll get into the outdoors for some incredible adventures that build both character and community. It’s faith and fun, wrapped into one unforgettable journey.
Outdoor Adventure once a month. We'll do activities like:
Hike to Eye of Needle (Walton Glen Gorge)
Hike Bluff (Sussex)
Hike to Ice Caves or Amphitheatre (Sussex)
Climb Mt Carleton (NB) or Katahdin (ME)
Paddle board/Kayak (Beulah)
Beach Walk (Hopewell Rocks)
Mission and Ministry
You’ll be out in the world, making a difference—in our local community and abroad. Think of it as your chance to be a world-changer.
Twice, each month you’ll connect and serve in ministry environments with some amazing groups around our region. Some groups like Romero House, Outflow, Joshua Group, Uptown Tent City Outreach, Shekinah Go, Harvest House, and Teen Challenge.
Optional Spring Break Mission Trip
During the 1st Week of March. We will be taking a team overseas for a short term missions trip. These trips are life-changing! They are an amazing opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and see the love of God touch people through you.
In the past few years, we’ve been to Peru, Honduras, Guatemala, Colombia, and Haiti
Note: The cost for this trip ($2500 - Estimated) is above and beyond the GAP Year tuition. Some fundraising opportunities will be provided.
What will a typical week look like?
Adventure and Ministry Experience times will vary, but will mostly likely be on the weekend. Students will get a schedule to before the semester begins to plan accordingly.
The ministry area the students wants to specialize in will determine that part of the schedule. (Eg. Youth Mon 6-9pm, Young Adults Sat 5-9pm, etc)
Generally, each student should expect 20-25 hrs engagement per week.
Here is a sample schedule:
Sunday (8:00 am - 1:00 pm) - Serving and Ministry
Tuesday (10:00 am - 12:00 pm) - Mentoring Cohort
Wednesday (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm) - Kings Academy Classes
Saturdays - Ministry or Adventure Trip

Questions?
Why True North?
The most important thing anyone can do is to orient their life toward God's purposes. What better place to do that than in the thriving environment of Kings Church?
Whether you are feeling some kind of call to full time ministry, or simply want to get spiritually grounded before heading into your chosen profession, you won't regret giving God this 9 month period in your life.
What does True North entail?
Students will take Kings Academy classes, serve in a chosen area of the local church, be mentored by a ministry leader, engage in local, regional, and urban outreach and outdoor adventure activities, and go on an international missions trip.
I'm from away. Can I still attend?
Yes! There a very limited number of acommdations that can be made available if you are willing relocate to Quispamsis, NB.
Note: You will need you own transportation.
Do I need to pay the full tuition up front?
No you do not. We require half of the tuition, minus the deposit, to be paid at the beginning of September and then the remainder to be paid at the beginning of January.
Do you offer payment plans?
Not officially, but we do not want finances to be an issue. We will review special requests on a case-by-case basis.
How long is the Program?
What is the time frame?True North runs from Sep-May each year, mirroring the typical university/college schedule for New Brunswick, with roughly the same holidays.
[Note: the missions trip will happen over the NB spring break during the first week of March]
